Looking for a nice warm meal to have while you are at One Punggol Hawker Centre?
You may try fish porridge and fish soup at Kwang Kee Teochew Fish Porridge.
I saw Michelin logo and the word written on the Kwang Kee Teochew Fish Porridge signboard, so perhaps they were Michelin contestant or one of the winner. But don’t worry, I would not be bias because sometimes I was trying Michelin food stall in Singapore that until now I was still wondering on how they could get that award 😂.
Kwang Kee Teochew Fish Porridge has five types of menu, Sliced Fish Porridge ($6.50, $8.50), Sliced Fish Soup ($6.50, $8.50), Fried Fish Soup ($6.50, $8.50), Fish Head Soup ($6.50, $8.50) and Dual Fish Soup ($7.50, $9.50).
Since fish porridge was part of their shop name “ Kwang Kee Teochew Fish Porridge,” so I tried their $6.50 Sliced Fish Porridge.
Although I ordered the small size ($6.50), the fish sliced was much more than enough for one person.
They also put green vegetables inside this porridge.
This porridge was not like Indonesian style of porridge. Actually it was a steamed rice that they put deep inside clear soup together with sliced fish and vegetables.
They served this food in a very hot condition, which was a good thing because it was not nice if the soup was not hot.
The fish sliced was fresh and the soup itself was tasty.
It’s nice to eat this fish porridge, especially during raining season.
