Have you ever eaten Rambutan?
Rambutan is a native fruit to Indonesian archipelago and other regions of tropical Southeast Asia.
Curious why in the first place they named this fruit Rambutan? Based on the Wikipedia explanation, Rambutan is a derived from Malay word rambut meaning as hair. It’s because a numerous hairy protuberances of the fruit so they called this fruit Rambutan.
How to eat Rambutan? You need to peel the rambutan skin. Rambutan has quite big seed inside so be careful when you eat it.
I am pretty lucky to find this Rambutan in a minimart below my place because Rambutan is a seasonal fruit and not a common fruit in Singapore.
This Rambutan is fresh, sweet and contains quite a lot of water. It’s yum.
