Skyscraper (the Bruges Whale) by STUDIOKCA in Singapore

From 6th November 2019 onwards, you may find a unique sculpture in front of Art Science Museum (ASM) in Singapore.

Named Skyscraper “the Bruges Whale”, StudioKCA made the sculpture of breaching giant whale to urge people to change the way they use and dispose plastic in the world.

Curious why do they design this sculpture using giant whale shape? It’s because of too many million tons of plastic trash in the ocean and soon will become more plastic trash swimming in the ocean than whale. It’s also because of huge size of giant whale (largest mamal in the ocean), this plastic trashes are so large beyond our imagination.

This sculpture is made from 5 tons of plastic sourced from Pacific Ocean. It contains of plastic bottle, rubber shoe, recycling bin, plastic crate / tote box, toilet bowl, small bathtub and also have plastic fan. Can you imagine huge quantity of those material swimming in the ocean? I cannot imagine it.

Honestly, the way that they design this sculpture is super cool…but at the same time, it opens my minds on how we as a human being play a part to this mess in the ocean and need to start to take an action by doing our part to stop this plastic waste.

Do bring your family and friends to visit this giant plastic whale sculpture.

Last but not least, please save our world by our little action to reduce plastic waste.
