Ah Hua Assam

Ah Hua Assam

I am a food lover that adore savory taste food. Perhaps it’s because of the environment influences in which I have lived from my childhood era.

Because of that, I have a soft spot for Peranakan food. When I was exploring Chinatown Complex Food Centre, I found one food stall selling Peranakan food named Ah Hua Assam. From the first sight, this stall seemed selling homey kind of food, so I decided to try.

I ordered their signature Assam Chicken set. Assam Chicken set comes with Assam Chicken, either curry vegetables or chap chye (I chose Chap Chye), omelette and rice.

Ngor Hiang

I also added Ngor Hiang because I heard they made Ngor Hiang themselves.

I enjoyed this Assam Chicken as my comfort food. It’s indeed tasted like home food cooking.

A little story of Ah Hua Assam: before opening food stall in Chinatown Complex Food Centre, they were selling homemade Assam sauce from 1960. No wonder the Assam sauce tastes yummy.
