Apologies for the delay in sharing our adventure, but let me tell you about our whirlwind experience at Bakery 1946, the Korean bakery sensation that recently graced Bugis Junction with its tantalizing pop-up stall!

Despite our eagerness to sink our teeth into their delectable creations, our first attempt was thwarted by daunting queues that snaked around the stall like a hungry serpent. Not ones to surrender easily, we opted for a leisurely stroll around Bugis, indulging in dinner as we plotted our return.
With renewed determination and empty stomachs, we returned post-dinner to find the queues had vanished like morning mist. Victory was sweet, quite literally, as we selected two tantalizing treats to sample.

Our gaze fell upon the illustrious K-Apple Bread ($5.90), a marvel encased in vibrant packaging that practically screamed “indulge me.” Crafted with traditional Daegu red yeast rice dough and brimming with luscious cream cheese and natural sweet apples, this bread resembled a work of edible art. Its moist texture and perfectly balanced sweetness left our taste buds dancing in delight.

Equally enticing was the Peanut Crumb Red Bean Bun ($3.80), a symphony of flavors and textures. Crunchy peanut crumb adorned the surface, offering a tantalizing introduction to the treasure trove of chunky sweet red bean paste nestled within. Each bite was a harmonious blend of sweetness and satisfaction, with the red bean’s delicate texture stealing the spotlight.

While the price tag may raise an eyebrow or two, the experience was worth every penny. After all, indulgence is an art form best savored on occasion.
If you’re feeling adventurous and craving a taste of Korea’s bakery scene, make haste to the pop-up stall at Bakery 1946 before its curtains close on March 10, 2024. Your taste buds will thank you later!
