Hi all, happy Sunday.
As I promise, every Sunday I will share with you Indonesian food that I tried before when I visited Jakarta before COVID.
For today, I will share with you one of Indonesian cuisine that has slight similarity with Singapore Lor Mee.
This cuisine name is Lo Mie Kangkung. I ate this Lo Mie Kangkung at Bakmie Asiong Surabaya.
Located at one of “culinary heaven in Jakarta” Kelapa Gading, Bakmie Asiong Surabaya is selling quite a lot of different type of food, such as noodles, porridge, nasi campur (rice with a lot of different types of pork), nasi tim (steam rice with chicken on the top of the rice) and many more.
Bakmie Asiong Surabaya’s Lo Mie Kangkung has noodles, Lo Mie gravy, chicken, pork, shrimp, fishball, mushroom, kangkong and fried shallots.
This Lo Mie Kangkung’s noodles have different shape compared with Singapore Lor Mee.
Lo Mie gravy has similar colour and stickiness with Singapore Lor Mee but the taste is a bit different.
For the toppings wise, Lo Mie Kangkung has more toppings compare with Singapore Lor Mee so overall this Lo Mie Kangkung has richer taste that comes from these toppings.
Lo Mie Kangkung is not so common in Jakarta compare with other noodles type: Bakmie Ayam (Chicken Noodle), Pork Noodle. Not every noodles place is selling this Lo Mie.
I like this Lo Mie Kangkung.
