If you find yourself in the Hougang area, you must check out Carrot Cubes, a delightful food stall offering a unique twist on the classic carrot cake. They have six intriguing variations: White Carrot Cake, Black Carrot Cake, Hottie Carrot Cake, Bacon Carrot Cake, Special Carrot Cake (a delicious combo of Bacon and Hottie), and Yuan Yang Carrot Cake.

My dear and I decided to try the Special Carrot Cake for $7.

Before ordering, we were curious about what “Hottie” meant, so we took a chance and went for it. To our surprise, “Hottie” translates to “spicy” 😅. It turned out to be a bit too fiery for our taste buds!

The seller was quite generous with the chili, making it an intense experience, but they balanced it out with plenty of bacon bits, even though the pieces were a tad small.

At $7, the Special Carrot Cake is definitely meant to be shared by two people.
Interestingly, the seller proudly claims that the carrot cake is made fresh by hand.
Overall, despite being a bit too spicy for us, this carrot cake was delicious and definitely worth trying!
