Looking for a supper or a late evening meal at Plaza Indonesia (Jakarta) before the mall is closed (around 8:30PM)?
You may try to visit Chopstix.
Chopstix is a Chinese food restaurant that is mainly selling typical of a la carte zi char dishes like fried kway teow, fried rice, kung pao chicken rice and many more.
Among of the menu that Chopstix has, my dear and I were interested to try their unusual dish named Pangsit Tek Tek (IDR34.800 around SGD3.48).
Other than Pangsit Tek Tek, we also tried Sepang Char Kuey Teow (IDR49.800 around SGD4.98).
Pangsit Tek Tek was a stir-fried dish like fried noodles, but they were using dumpling skin (not mee hoon kueh) to replace the noodles as the main ingredient of this dish.
They also put crunchy beansprout and fried shallots to be cooked together with the dumpling skin.
I liked this Pangsit Tek Tek a lot. It was delicious.
Sepang Char Kuey Teow was a stir-fried kway teow dish, but this kway teow was not the same like Singapore char kway teow. This Sepang Char Kuey Teow was solely using kway teow, not yellow noodles at all.
The taste wise was also a bit different. This Sepang Char Kuey Teow was more savoury, perhaps because they were using sweet black soy sauce that could not be found in Singapore.
They also gave shrimps and the shrimps were fresh and crunchy.
We were pleased with these dishes as we could taste the wok hei taste in both dishes and the overall taste was delicious. The price wise was also affordable.
