As part of this year’s Singapore HeritageFest 2025, I had the chance to visit Homeground Village at Gardens by the Bay — and it was more than just a fun cultural event. Thanks to Yeo’s, the official partner for SG60 celebrations, I walked away with something special: a tingkat-inspired Yeo’s Singaporean Starter Kit that was full of surprises (and memories).

The Event: A Celebration of Everyday Heritage
Held at Silver Leaf Garden, the event space was transformed into a vibrant, open-air heritage village. There were interactive booths, traditional crafts, local snacks, and even stage performances that brought Singapore’s intangible heritage to life. But the highlight for me? The Yeo’s Asian drinks stall and their SG60-exclusive drink: the Orchid Chrysanthemum Tea.

Refreshing, lightly floral, and nostalgic in all the right ways — it’s a twist on the classic Yeo’s Chrysanthemum Tea that so many of us grew up drinking.
The Tingkat That Tells a Story

At the event, I received the Yeo’s Singaporean Starter Kit, beautifully presented in a nostalgic tingkat (stacked food carrier). Each layer inside revealed something that represents what it means to grow up in Singapore:
• Old-school snacks we loved as kids
• Classic childhood games like five stones and country erasers

• And of course, Yeo’s drinks that instantly transport you back to simpler times

It wasn’t just a fun freebie — it felt like opening a time capsule. Every item reminded me how deeply these everyday things are woven into our shared culture.
More Than a Drink Brand
Yeo’s isn’t just about beverages — they’re part of our story. Whether it’s school canteen memories or family dinners, their drinks have been there through the decades. The SG60 collaboration felt especially meaningful this year, as Yeo’s used its platform to spotlight the small but powerful elements of Singapore’s heritage.

Where You Can Join In
Homeground Village runs every weekend in May 2025, and you can:
• Sample the SG60 Orchid Chrysanthemum Tea
• Take part in a giveaway to win your own Yeo’s tingkat
• Explore food booths and heritage crafts

• Enjoy music and performances curated by the National Heritage Board

If you can’t make it, you can still pick up the limited-edition Orchid Chrysanthemum Tea in 250ML packs at leading retailers from June, while stocks last.
This was a sweet reminder (literally!) that heritage lives in our everyday habits — the drinks we share, the snacks we grew up with, the little games that used to fill our afternoons. Thank you, Yeo’s, for this special tribute to Singapore’s 60th.
