I recently brought my dear to explore Hougang Village since it’s still accessible from our place.
On the outside of the market, we saw fruit seller, cutting giant fresh jackfruit and selling it directly. Many people were starting to queue and after a while became longer and longer.
The other thing was that this jackfruit was sooo fragrant. Because of those, we were interested to try yet at the same time we were worried that the price would be expensive.
After observing for a while, we noticed that normally buyer would just tell the seller on how much money they wanted to buy. Example $10, $6, etc.
Because of that, we felt a bit relieved and decided to buy $5 jackfruit.
Upon receiving the jackfruit, we were a bit shocked and happy because the seller gave us a lot of jackfruit inside a platic bag.
Luckily we decided to try if not we didn’t know that we could get this big quantities.
The jackfruit was sweet and fresh. The flesh was also thick and crunchy. Be careful when you bite it because it has a big seed.
Overall, we were satisfied and would try to buy durian from them in the near future 😊.
