Today I will share with you one of the popular Filipino sweet pastry, so you don’t have to go to Philippines to try. You can purchase it in Singapore. Curious what is that? It’s Ensaymada.

Wow, is it nice? Where can I buy Ensaymada? You can purchase it from Jenn’s Kitchen.sg.

Jenn’s Kitchen.sg has two different flavours of Ensaymada: Cheese Ensaymada and Ube Cheese Ensaymada. I try both flavours.

From the looks and the fragrance of these Ensaymada, it seems these Ensaymada taste will be very sweet but don’t worry, when you eat this by cutting this pastry vertically, the taste will not be too sweet. It has a perfect balance of sweetness in these Ensaymada.

They also generously put a lot of Cheese on top of these Ensaymada until quite thick. You will definitely like it.

What is the difference between Cheese Ensaymada and Ube Cheese Ensaymada? The difference is that they mix the ingredients with Ube (a.k.a. Purple Yam). From the look, you could easily differentiate it by seeing purple spot in Ube Cheese Ensaymada.

Fyi, they are using real Purple Yam to make this Ube Cheese Ensaymada and both flavours of Ensaymada are made freshly. These Ensaymada size is also quite big.

I like both Cheese Ensaymada and Ube Cheese Ensaymada. You should also try it 😀.
