Kanada-Ya Singapore

For all ramen lovers in Singapore, have you heard about Kanada-Ya?

Kanada-Ya is a Japanese Ramen restaurant founded by Mr. Kazuhiro Kanada in 2009 and originated from Yukuhashi – Japan. Kanada-Ya specializes in authentic Tonkotsu Ramen.

Kanada-Ya also did expansion to Hong Kong and United Kingdom in 2013. Kanada-Ya is considered one of the best ramen restaurants in London to date.

They claimed that all the noodles are made on site using a special machine imported from Japan, that uses specific brand of flour enriched with the right protein content and alkaline salts to produce a bouncy and firm noodles that will standing up to the rich broth.

Starting from December 2019, Kanada-Ya opened the first restaurant at PLQ Mall – Singapore.

What a great achievement Kanada-Ya has achieved until now.

Ok, enough for the introduction and let’s start the food review.

I tried Tonkotsu Mix Ramen and Chicken Teriyaki Don for the main dishes and Gyoza for the side dish.

Tonkotsu Mix Ramen

Tonkotsu Mix Ramen consists of Belly Chashu, Wood Ear Fungus, Spring Onion, Hanjuku Egg and two pieces of Nori.

The Noodles were springy, the Belly Chashu was tender and melt inside my mouth. The thing that I was very impressed with this Tonkotsu Mix Ramen was the broth. The broth had rich flavour and I could taste mild Truffle. It’s a good things for me because sometimes I felt that if the Truffle taste was overpowering the broth, the taste became not so pleasant (for me).

Chicken Teriyaki Don

Chicken Teriyaki Don consists of Teriyaki Chicken thigh slow cooked then pan seared and topped with Lettuce and Onions. The good thing in this Chicken Teriyaki Don was the chicken itself. They gave generous portion of Teriyaki Chicken Thigh and the chicken was huge. The teriyaki sauce was mixed well with the chicken and the rice.

Gyoza

The last thing that I will review is Gyoza. I got four pieces of Gyoza. The meat inside this Gyoza was tasty and the skin was also not hard. It’s a good option for the side dish to accompany you eating the ramen.

Overall, it was a pleasant satisfaction trying food from Kanada-Ya.

Kanada-Ya currently has few promotions. You may go to their website for more details. They are also available via here, GrabFood and Foodpanda.

P.S.: Food is sponsored by Kanada-Ya.
