I discovered this place by chance. While visiting Teo Hock Kee, I noticed a long line at a nearby stall. Curious, my partner and I decided to join the queue and see what the buzz was about.
Kedai Makan Nasi Ayam Kee Chup keeps things simple with just one menu item: fried chicken rice. But don’t expect the usual fast-food style chicken. This fried chicken is something special.
The chicken looked so delicious, we were practically drooling before we even tasted it. When we did, it didn’t disappoint. The skin was perfectly crispy, marinated just right, and full of flavor. The meat inside was juicy and tender, though we thought it could be even better if the marinade soaked deeper into the chicken.
The rice reminded us of the fragrant, oily rice often served with chicken in Singapore—tasty on its own, but even better with the chicken.
We absolutely loved the chicken skin and were glad we decided to give Nasi Ayam Kee Chup a try. It’s definitely worth the wait in line!
