Kukup Maywe Crystal Jelly

From the longest time, I have passion and dream to hunt traditional food and old school food shop in every country, try the food, take pictures as a memento and share it in my blog.

Even though I seldom go overseas, I always try my best to be able to hunt through my relatives, friends and colleagues who help to buy for me.

This time, one of my colleague helps me to buy Crystal Jelly from Kukup, Malaysia. FYI, Kukup is a fishing village in South Malaysia Johor state. It’s known for its seafood restaurants built on stilts over the water.

The crystal jelly brand name is Kukup Maywe Crystal Jelly.

Kukup Crystal Jelly is very famous in Kukup and the Crystal Jelly’s color are eye catching. The shape of this crystal jelly looks like Ang Ku Kueh. The difference is that Kukup Crystal Jelly is made from agar agar. The filling itself is similar like Ang Ku Kueh.

One box of Kukup Crystal Jelly contains of twelve jelly in six different colors (each color have two pieces). Each color have different topping: Pink is red bean, Orange is peanut, Purple is yam, Yellow is pineapple, Green is corn and Light Blue is soybean.

I would personally prefer to eat it when it’s cold (put into fridge first). I like all the Crystal Jelly flavours. It’s delicious and refreshing.

I am very fortunate to eat this delicacy Kukup food.
