Recently my friend and I went to The Cathay for a short lunch and upon arrival, we were quite shock because many of the restaurants were closed down.

Only left few remaining restaurants still open and the only one open restaurant that is serving main course (not dessert and ice cream only) is The Assembly Ground.

So since we didn’t have many options, we decided to have our lunch at The Assembly Ground and ordered Laksa Barramundi Pasta ($24) and Bom Chika Wow Wow Burger ($22).

Laksa Barramundi Pasta is a new dish creation that The Assembly Ground has. It consists of linguine tossed with coconut curry, fish cake, beancurd puffs, hard-boiled egg and deep fried barramundi.

They mix the linguine with coconut curry beforehand until evenly distributed. Coconut curry has a rich flavour taste and a little bit spicy. It has pretty similar taste like laksa dish.

Deep fried Barramundi is also quite big, crispy outside and soft inside. The Barramundi is also fresh and seems like no fish bone at all.
They are successfully made this Laksa Barramundi Pasta to become a not-boring pasta.

Bom Chika Wow Wow Burger consists of fried chicken, fried egg, cheddar, pear slaw, pickled daikon, truffle mayo and served with black colour French sourdough bun, curly fries and petite salad.

Bom Chika Wow Wow Burger appearance really makes me feel “wow”. It’s a full pack dish with petite salad and curly fries beside the black colour burger bun.
The fried chicken fillet inside this burger is crispy and tasty.
I don’t have any idea whether they are really using sourdough or not to make this bun because it seems the bun is quite soft.
Combination between truffle mayo, pickled daikon and pear slaw makes this burger have more flavour.

The curly fries are very crispy, but I feel these curly fries are a bit oily. In fact the fried chicken is also a little bit oily. Perhaps they should rest the fried chicken and curly fries for a while before serving it.
Luckily it has petite salad to make this dish fresher.
Overall, I had a great lunch experience there especially with their Laksa Barramundi Pasta.
