Today I will share with you one legendary traditional dessert shop in Chinatown area named Mei Heong Yuen Dessert.
I do believe most of you already try or at least know about this shop.
But it’s okay because I will still share it 😛 and hopefully you will still be interested to see my review.
Mei Heong Yuen Dessert is a trully well known traditional dessert place, so you may expect longer waiting time to get the seat because most of the time are crowded with people who stay inside and outside of Singapore.
Mei Heong Yuen Dessert is also one of the Singapore Chinatown Heritage Brands – an initiative by Chinatown Business Association to introduce long established heritage brand names to Singapore visitors. So cool right?
For the menu, I tried dessert that one of the ingredients using one of the most lovable fruit by people in Singapore.
Since majority of people who stayed in Singapore loved durian, so I ordered Durian Ice ($6.50) with extra one scoop of Durian Ice Cream ($2).
Other than that, I also ordered Burbur Cha Cha ($3.50).
Durian Ice with Durian Ice Cream looked really woah especially for durian lovers (including me).
The Durian Ice looked like yellow colour mountain that was made from durian erupting white colour lava.
This dessert was a combo durian dish with a very rich taste of durian. Even I could feel a bit of durian flesh on this Durian Ice Cream. So it was a proof that they were using real durian to make it.
I do feel that it’s very suitable to eat especially during the hot weather.
Burbur Cha Cha is a warm dish that is actually a kind of my comfort food. It’s reminded me of my mom cooking this kind of dessert.
So if you haven’t tried it before, go try their dessert 😊.
