Today, I want to share with you a hidden gem tucked inside Hainanese Village Food Centre – Ming Fa Duck Rice. If you’re in the area, this is a stall you don’t want to miss!
Ming Fa Duck Rice has earned quite the reputation, drawing a steady stream of loyal customers. It’s not uncommon to see a queue forming, and trust me, the line is a sign of just how good the food is.
They offer two price options for their duck rice: $4 and $5. You can also add extras like egg, tofu, or more duck meat for an additional cost.
I decided to go for the $4 portion, which doesn’t come with egg or tofu.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to grab two essentials with your meal – the soup and the chilli. Trust me, you’ll regret skipping these! 😂
The portion size for the $4 dish is generous, and the rice, with its rich, dark brown hue, is packed with flavor. The star of the dish, of course, is the duck – tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious.
The soup is a standout on its own, made with plenty of bones to give it a deep, rich flavor. My dear loved it, and I have to agree – it’s one of the best soups I’ve tasted.
Now, let’s talk about the chilli. It’s a unique blend mixed with ikan bilis (anchovies), and the best part? It’s self-serve! You can take as much as you like, but let’s be considerate and leave some for others, alright? 😂
If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend going early, especially if you’re traveling from far, to avoid disappointment.
