Today, I want to share with you a famous Indonesian dish from my hometown, Jakarta, called Nasi Ayam Semarang. This delightful dish is served at Nasi Ayam Semarang Bu Lilis.

Bu Lilis offers a few variations of Indonesian cuisine, but the must-try dish here is Nasi Ayam Semarang. Why? Because it’s the signature dish that gives the restaurant its name.

Nasi Ayam Semarang consists of liwet rice, shredded chicken, a boiled egg, krechek (cattle skin crackers), tofu, slices of Siamese pumpkin, and a mix of white and yellow opor gravy.

Let me tell you, this Nasi Ayam Semarang is incredibly delicious, with a savory taste that lingers on your taste buds. The gravy is perfectly balanced and not too oily.

The krechek is especially yummy, and it’s one of my favorite Indonesian dishes. The Siamese pumpkin is well-cooked, the liwet rice is flavorful, and the shredded chicken is tender.

It’s no wonder so many people love Nasi Ayam Semarang!
