While hunting food in Jakarta, my dear and I passed by one Malaysian restaurant named Restoran GH Corner Kelapa Gading and I was curious to try because I really wanted to know which version of Malaysian cuisine was tastier, whether the one in Jakarta or Singapore one.
After seeing the menu and browsing online a little bit, we decided to try Roti Canai Tissue (IDR30.000 around SGD3), Char Kwetiau (IDR30.000 around SGD3), Nasi Lemak (IDR10.000 around SGD1) and Roti Canai Pisang (IDR17.000 around SGD1.7).
Fyi, these are our breakfast and don’t be shock on why do we have a lot for our breakfast. The answer is because us as an Indonesian, we get used to take heavy breakfast 😂.
Roti Canai Tissue shape is really interesting. It’s pretty similar like big version of birthday hat.
They also put chocolate condensed milk and shredded cheese on this Roti Canai Tissue. It has sweet taste and crunchy.
GH Corner’s Char Kwetiau is quite different like Char Kwetiau that I know because they put red colour soup together with Char Kwetiau on the same plate. Perhaps because this Char Kwetiau is Malay version of Char Kwetiau. But to be honest, I like this Char Kwetiau a lot because the red colour soup is tasty. The shrimp that they put is also quite big.
This Nasi Lemak only contains steamed coconut rice with half boiled of egg, two pieces of cucumber slices, ikan bilis, peanuts and sambal chilli. For $1, I don’t have any complaint 😂.
Roti Canai Pisang is also nice, but maybe I am bias because I love banana so much, so anything with banana are delicious for me.
Other than their food, I was also pleased with GH Corner’s environment ambience because seemed like it was religious and had this wording written on their wall “Ingat Makan Ingat Tuhan” (When you feel hungry and remember to eat, you will also remember God that He always takes care of you).
