Today I would share with you one of the authentic Indonesian cuisine (to be exact is Padang cuisine) that I tried during my short trip to Jakarta named Sate Padang.
I bought this Sate Padang from one of the legend Sate Padang shop named Sate Mak Syukur.

Sate Mak Syukur started selling this Sate Padang since 1941 and now they already have so many branches in Indonesia.
Sate Padang is different with the common satay (the one that is using peanut sauce) that you can find easily in Singapore and even in Indonesia.

This Sate Padang is made from beef that they cut into small cubes and they pour the satay with spicy thick dark yellow colour gravy.
This gravy is made from rice flour mixed with beef and offal broth, turmeric, ginger, garlic, coriander, galangal root, cumin, curry powder and salt.

I ordered one portion of Sate Padang (Rp.48.000,- around S$4.80) and one packet of Kerupuk Kulit (Rp.17.000,- around S$1.70).

One portion of Sate Padang consists of six sticks of beef satay, few pieces of lontong (rice cake) and spicy thick dark yellow colour gravy.

I also mix this gravy with the Kerupuk Kulit (cattle skin crackers).
Beef satay is tender, but it still has the texture when you chew it.
The spicy thick dark yellow colour gravy has an herb taste, delicious and will make your body feel warm.
Overall I like this Sate Padang so much.
If you don’t mind eating beef, do try it if you visit Jakarta.
