Visit the Singapore Hokkien Lam Ann Festival: Food, Fun, and Free Activities
From 13 to 22 September 2024, the Singapore Hokkien Lam Ann Festival is happening at the Singapore Lam Ann Association, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. This lively festival offers plenty of food, entertainment, and activities for everyone.
Food Stalls and Coupons
One of the highlights of the festival is the wide variety of food available from different stalls. To try the delicious offerings, all you need to do is purchase a coupon. My partner and I bought $10 worth of coupons, which included two $2 coupons, two $4 coupons, and a lucky draw number for a chance to win prizes.
Tasty Treats We Tried
We sampled two dishes: Fried Kway Teow ($6) and a Fruit Sago Dessert ($4). The Fried Kway Teow came with a plump prawn and was incredibly flavorful—definitely a crowd-pleaser! The Fruit Sago Dessert, with refreshing cubes of watermelon and melon, was sweet, tasty, and the perfect way to cool down.
Fun Free Activities
Beyond the food, there are also free activities for visitors. One fun challenge is collecting stamps from various locations around the festival. Once you’ve completed your stamp card, you can redeem it for a Snow Crab Leg Stick or Fish Ball Soup, courtesy of Dodo, at the redemption booth. We redeemed ours for the Snow Crab Leg Stick—it was a great treat!
Other free activities include drawing, creating animal shapes out of clay, and learning origami. These are perfect for families or anyone looking to get creative.
Special Offerings at Hong San See Temple
While you’re at the festival, don’t miss the Hong San See Temple, where you can try two types of complimentary tea. One is meant to cool your body, and the other promotes better sleep. We tried both and enjoyed them!
