Do you know that Sunshine Plaza has one famous Hong Kong style dim sum shop named Victor’s Kitchen that has already been there since (perhaps) 8-9 years ago?
It’s indeed famous and I do believe Victor’s Kitchen name is already marked inside the dim sum book list for most of dim sum lovers in Singapore.
My friend and I visited Victor’s Kitchen during one of the weekday lunch and even on the weekday it was already almost full packed.
Luckily we got one empty table to have their dim sum.
I ordered Iced H.K. Summer Iced Milk Tea ($3.50), Tasty Queen Size Siew Mai (4 pieces for $5.50), Chicken & Sausage in Glutinous Rice ($7.80), Steamed Chicken Rice ($5.30), Sausage Yam Cake ($5.70) and Spring Is In The Air Cheong Fun ($5.80).
What a unique dim sum name for few of them, right?
They claimed that their H.K Summer Iced Milk Tea taste is 100% Hong Kong taste. Since I have never been to Hong Kong before, so I will believe it because the way they serve this Iced Milk Tea is quite special: they put a plastic cup full of Milk Tea inside a bowl that is surrounded by a lot of ice cube.
This Iced Milk Tea taste is quite thick – strong milk tea taste and I like it and at the same time it will make you full, so you need to only drink this after finishing your dim sum.
Honestly Tasty Queen Size Siew Mai’s size is pretty similar like the ordinary Siew Mai size and it’s quite delicious.
Chicken & Sausage in Glutinous Rice is one of their recommendation dim sum, but for me the taste is quite common – nothing is special. Perhaps they thought sausage makes difference for this glutinous rice.
You need to wait patiently around 10 minutes if you order Steamed Chicken Rice, but for me it’s totally worth it. This Steamed Chicken Rice taste is simply delicious and the best to eat while it’s still hot.
Sausage Yam Cake contains quite a lot of yam and it’s nice. Perhaps it will be even better if they make it a little bit crispier.
For me, Spring Is In The Air Cheong Fun is my most favourite among the other dim sum that I have tried. It contains vegetables, prawn and a crispy thing that makes this cheong fun special. You need to dip it with soya sauce that they provide to eat with this dim sum to get the best possible taste.
Overall I am quite satisfied with their dim sum.
