Craving a delicious cold dessert near the Fortune Centre building? Check out Yat Ka Yan, a popular new dessert shop.
This place is so popular that there’s often a long line even before it opens, and the queue only gets longer once it does.
Fortunately, we arrived early and joined the queue before the shop opened.
I heard their most famous dessert is the Durian Chendol ($7.50), so we decided to try it. We were also curious about the Avocado Sago ($8), so we got that too.
The Durian Chendol has a generous portion of durian on top. It looks tempting and tastes amazing, made with real durian. The gula melaka (palm sugar) adds a nice sweetness, making the chendol even tastier.
The Avocado Sago consists of sago pearls, ice cream, and avocado sauce, possibly with coconut milk (if I tasted it correctly). The avocado sauce is smooth, and the sago pearls are easy to chew. It’s a delicious dessert worth trying.
Yat Ka Yan also offers hot desserts, but I prefer the cold ones, especially in this weather.
Now I see why Yat Ka Yan is so popular. You should definitely give it a try.
