Today I will share with you one nasi lemak stall named Ah Boy Nasi Lemak that is located inside 216 Bedok North Street 1 Food Centre.
Reflected by this nasi lemak stall name, this stall is running by ah boy. I am actually not sure of how many ah boys involved in this nasi lemak stall, but when I went there, I saw two ah boys helping each others operating this nasi lemak stall.
It’s pretty good seeing this ah boys diligently sell nasi lemak because as we know, it’s not an easy job operating food stall.
Ah Boy Nasi Lemak is selling a la carte nasi lemak which you can choose anything you want to add with different prices and they are also selling nasi lemak set meal with the same prices.
They have four different set meals which are Chicken Wing Set ($2.80), Pork Chop Set ($3), Chicken Cutlet Set ($3.50) and Rendang Chicken Set ($3.50).
While waiting for my turn to order, I started to observe nasi lemak toppings that they have. I saw chicken cutlet that was looking soo fascinating so I was aiming for that one.
When it was my turn to order, I ordered two different set meal for take away: Chicken Wing Set and Chicken Cutlet Set.
I requested to add luncheon meat for Chicken Wing Set and spicy eggplant for Chicken Cutlet Set.
Fyi, they are using Basmati rice to make this nasi lemak. As far as I know, Basmati rice is healthier than normal rice and more expensive.
Once I reached home, I was surprised that one of the ah boy was actually giving me Rendang Chicken instead of Fried Chicken Wing.
I honestly didn’t realize it until I reached home because I had a bad habit that most of the time I didn’t give the exact amount of money and never counted the change money 😅.
So well, I felt a bit disappointed. But after eating Rendang Chicken, I felt that I had a blessing in disguise moment because apparently, Rendang Chicken is very tasty, even much more better than chicken cutlet 😂.
The nasi lemak is fragrant enough and I like that they are using Basmati rice.
Chicken Cutlet is not as crispy as it looks but it’s fine for me. It’s still nice.
Spicy eggplant is the dish that can be improved because it’s not spicy enough and the sauce is not thick enough.
Other than that, these nasi lemak are nice to try. So if you are craving for nasi lemak inside 216 Bedok North Street 1 Food Centre, do give a chance to Ah Boy Nasi Lemak.
