Today I will share with you one place selling Indonesian food named Angkringan.sg.

A little story about Angkringan.sg. Reflected by Angkringan name meaning, it represents their idea to introduce variety of Indonesian food in Singapore, so Angkringan.sg will change their menu periodically so people in Singapore can taste various delicious Indonesian food without traveling to Indonesia.

What does Angkringan mean? Angkringan is a traditional Javanese street food that normally uses push cart to sell a lot of Indonesian food varieties.

Sounds interesting right?

I try their three different dishes: Nasi Uduk Ayam Taliwang set, Dabu Dabu Fish and Kolak.

Nasi Uduk Ayam Taliwang set consists of nasi uduk (Indonesian style rice with coconut milk), Ayam Taliwang (Spicy Indonesian grilled chicken dish from Lombok island), tofu, egg, chilli, cucumber and urap (Javanese cuisine salad dish consists of steamed vegetables is mixed with seasoned and spiced grated coconut as a dressing).

Nasi Uduk
Ayam Taliwang
Urap

This Nasi Uduk Ayam Taliwang set is very solid, tasty and definitely will make you full after eating this dish. This ayam taliwang is not so spicy, so for people who couldn’t take spicy food will be able to eat this ayam taliwang. The chicken is tender.

I like the way they made this egg. It’s tasty. Urap is also yummy. I rarely find urap dish in Singapore so it’s a good thing that Angkringan.sg has it.

They also generously give the chilli. It’s a lot of portion and the chilli is nice. You may mix this chilli with the nasi uduk.

Dabu Dabu

Dabu Dabu Fish is also delicious. What is Dabu Dabu? Dabu Dabu is a Manado’s raw sambal. Normally they use few types of chilli slices, shallots, tomato, salt and sugar to make this Dabu Dabu.

This Dabu Dabu has fresh and refreshing taste. They use batang fish. The fish is also fresh. I like this Dabu Dabu Fish. Yummy.

Kolak

The last is Kolak. Kolak is an Indonesian dessert that consists of banana, sweet potato, jackfruit and atap seed with coconut milk.

Angkringan.sg’s Kolak is a complete toppings version of good Kolak. The toppings are a lot and sweet. Jackfruit is very fragrant. Banana and sweet potato are nice and have good texture (not overcooked). Atap seed is also not hard to chew. It’s nice.

Overall these dishes are good dishes to try.
