Suan Pan Zi ?? May I know what is Suan Pan Zi? Suan Pan Zi a.k.a. Abacus Seed is a traditional Hakka dish that signifies wealth and auspiciousness.
It’s quite hard to find a place in Singapore selling Suan Pan Zi, so when I heard Haoke Hakka selling Suan Pan Zi, it’s like music in my ear. Hehehe.
Hao Hake Hakka is selling two different kind of Suan Pan Zi: Haoke Hakka Suan Pan Zi and Haoake Meatless Hakka Suan Pan Zi.
Haoke Hakka Suan Pan Zi consists of vegetable oil, sesame oil, yam, tapioca flour, minced pork, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, black fungus, shallot, shiitake mushroom, carrot, garlic, dried shrimp and parsley.
Haoake Meatless Hakka Suan Pan Zi consists of almost simillar ingredients like Haoke Hakka Suan Pan Zi, but it doesn’t have dried shrimp and pork.
For this time, I try Haoke Hakka Suan Pan Zi.
This Haoke Hakka Suan Pan Zi has a lot of toppings portion and it’s traditionally delicious.
Black fungus, shallot, shiitake mushroom, carrot, garlic, dried shrimp and parsley tastes blended well with this Suan Pan Zi.
