Happy Mid Autumn Festival 2022 for all who celebrate it. Even though I am not really celebrating it, but since I love to eat yummy food, this is the best time for me to enjoy certain mooncakes that I like 😂.
I mentioned certain mooncakes that I like because honestly I don’t like Cantonese Mooncake and Shanghai Mooncake (so sorry because I couldn’t cherish that 😅). My most favourite mooncakes are Hokkien Mooncake and few other types such as Snowskin Mooncake, Teochew Mooncake and Ice Cream Mooncake.
Hokkien Mooncake is my favourite because I am Indonesian and I used to eat this mooncakes from small kid. The flavours of this mooncake varies from chocolate, cheese, durian, jack fruit and many more.
But too bad, I couldn’t find this kind of mooncakes in Singapore and luckily recently my cousin from Indonesia came to Singapore and brought me this mooncake.
So here I am with chocolate flavour of Indonesian version of Hokkien Mooncake a.k.a Kueh Tiong Tjioe Phia brand name Gouw Boen San.
The chocolate filling is thick and super a lot. There is also peanut inside this filling.
Even though the chocolate filling is super a lot, it’s not too sweet as it looks. So you will not feel “sick of eating it” after finishing whole mooncake.
Overall I really like this mooncake. It brings memory and joy while eating it 🤗.
