Today I will share with you one of my favourite childhood snacks named Ang Ku Kueh.
Last time, Ang Ku Kueh only has one type of topping: sweet bean with two different colours: red and green.
Nowadays, people are more creative on thinking a way on how to introduce this ang ku kueh to a young generation. So they create a lot of different topping varieties with different skin colours. This strategy works pretty well and one Ang Ku Kueh shop named Ji Xiang Confectionery recently introduces Rainbow Ang Ku Kueh.
I purchased one set Rainbow Ang Ku Kueh and one set Ang Ku Kueh from Ji Xiang Confectionery’s Bugis Village branch.
One set Rainbow Ang Ku Kueh ($7) consists of two pieces of Rainbow Ang Ku Kueh with two different toppings that you can choose from: peanut or sweet bean or both flavours.
This Rainbow Ang Ku Kueh is very eye catching and it’s tasted nice. I tried both peanut and sweet bean toppings.
One set Ang Ku Kueh ($6) consists of 6 pieces of Ang Ku Kueh with five different toppings and each topping has different colours: Peanut (red), Sweet Bean (dark red), Salty Bean (grey), Coconut (green), Yam (purple) and Corn (light orange).
My most favourite among those five different toppings are Yam, Corn and Sweet Bean.
Ji Xiang Confectionery’s Ang Ku Kueh skin is not hard to chew and not very thick.
These Ang Ku Kueh are also a handmade Ang Ku Kueh made by Ji Xiang Confectionery.
Overall, I like these Ang Ku Kueh. I will definitely buy again in near future.
P.S.: it’s better to do online purchasing for Rainbow Ang Ku Kueh at least one day before to avoid disappointment.
