Today I will share with you a quite new food stall inside Beo Crescent Hawker Centre that is operated by a young sincere guy who is selling biryani cuisine named Masala Canteen.
I am interested to try because I want to support young people who is brave enough to open food stall. Honestly it is not an easy job to open food stall.
Masala Canteen has four biryani dishes to try, such as Masala Chicken Biryani ($8), Masala Mutton Biryani ($10), Masala Beef Biryani ($10) and Lamb Shank Biryani ($25).
At first I wanted to try Masala Chicken Biryani because this was the most affordable one and the chicken looked big.
But, the owner recommended me to try either Masala Mutton Biryani or Masala Beef Biryani.
Because I didn’t eat mutton, I changed my order to try beef instead of chicken.
He assured me that the beef was guaranteed very tender and if not tender, he told me to return it back to him.
Sounds very promising right?
One plate of Masala Beef Biryani contains nasi biryani, curry beef, achar and curry gravy. He also told me that if I wanted extra achar, he would not mind to refill it for me. What a very good service right?
He also sold papadam with additional cost.
The curry beef was indeed very tender and melt softly inside my mouth. I was amazed at the moment and I thought I got myself a hidden gem article.
But the moment I tried the curry, my mind suddenly went blank because the curry itself didn’t give the good justice to support the super tender beef.
If I could said this, this curry didn’t have a curry taste. He should have made the curry thicker with heavier taste. It was such a pity because other than tender beef, the achar was also very delicious.
He put pineapple and cucumber to make the achar. The pineapple is fresh, sweet and crunchy.
With $10 price and compared with other stalls food’s price, I don’t think I would come back to try another dishes.
