Shi Wei Da Teochew Porridge

Other than Xing Ji Rou Cuo Mian’s Minced Pork Noodle, I also tried Satay Bee Hoon from Shi Wei Da Teochew Porridge.

At first, I was curious to try Shi Wei Da Teochew Porridge‘s Satay Bee Hoon because I never tried Satay Bee Hoon before and I saw long queue in front of Shi Wei Da Teochew Porridge stall.

Only when I started writing this article, I just knew that Shi Wei Da Teochew Porridge was actually getting 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand Award. So no wonder many people are willing to queue to try their Satay Bee Hoon.

Just in case you are curious why this stall name is Shi Wei Da Teochew Porridge, but the seller is selling Satay Bee Hoon. I read from the internet that they sell Teochew Porridge in the morning and from evening onwards, they sell Satay Bee Hoon.

I purchased one package of Satay Bee Hoon to take away. Satay Bee Hoon consists of bee hoon with tau pok, pork liver, pork slices, kangkong, bean sprouts and peanut sauce.

Since this is the first time I tried Satay Bee Hoon, at first I felt a bit weird with this Satay Bee Hoon’s taste. But after a while, I can slowly appreciate it.

How to eat this Satay Bee Hoon?
Mix peanut sauce with all the toppings properly.

How is the taste?
The peanut sauce appearance is similar like peanut sauce that is using for chicken / pork / mutton satay but the taste is a bit different. This peanut sauce will not make you sick of eating it when you eat a lot of it.

Each of the Satay Bee Hoon toppings play their part well to make this overall Satay Bee Hoon taste delicious.

Overall, it’s quite nice experience to try this Satay Bee Hoon. To be honest, not everyone will be able to appreciate this Satay Bee Hoon taste. So it’s either you like it or hate it. For me, I choose to like it 😁.

P.S.: be ready to face long queue duration to try this Satay Bee Hoon 😬.
