Today I will share with you one Hainanese curry rice shop that is located on Kovan area named Sin Chie Toke Huan.
Open from 5:00PM until 03:30AM, Sin Chie Toke Huan is a good place to go for your dinner and your supper. Unlike normal Hainanese curry rice shop, Sin Chie Toke Huan is selling an old school Hainanese curry rice that tastes totally not the same like normal curry. The curry’s colour is also different (dark brown) from normal curry (dark orange).
It’s hard for me to describe this curry flavour, but for sure, I can taste the herb inside this curry.
The toppings that Sin Chie Toke Huan have also don’t have many variants (from what I saw when I visited), for example: while normal Hainanese curry rice shop have chicken chop and pork chop, they only have pork chop.

After observing the toppings that they have, I choose pork chop, braised hard boiled egg, bitter gourd with egg and curry gravy to accompany the rice and I request to take away.

Pork chop is a must order dish in Sin Chie Toke Huan. I am not sure whether they use bread crumbs or biscuit crumbs to make this pork chop but it tastes like an old school taste and yummy.

Braised hard boiled egg has strong taste and because of that, I like it so much.

In general, I like bitter gourd with egg dish, so every time I see this dish, I will definitely try it.
The curry gravy tastes uniquely yummy and I like it.
Overall, I like Hainanese curry rice from Sin Chie Toke Huan and I don’t mind visiting this place frequently.
On the side note, this place is popular so you may expect a long queue 😀.
