While exploring Bencoolen and Jalan Besar area, I coincidentally passed by one small eatery shop named Da Ma Restoran.
Out of curiosity, I saw their menu and noticed that they actually served dish mostly for below $10.
“What a great thing”. Without thinking twice, I stepped into Da Ma Restoran and ordered their Traditional Nasi Lemak ($8.80) because this dish picture looked interesting.
Fyi, Da Ma Restoran is serving Malaysian cuisine, but I am not sure how authentic their taste because I seldom go to Malaysia.
They mentioned “KL ABC Mamak Restoran” on top of this nasi lemak menu. Perhaps it was related, but I was not so sure.
One plate of Traditional Nasi Lemak consists of nasi lemak with fried chicken, sunny side up, ikan bilis, peanut, cucumber slices and chilli sauce.
This fried chicken appearance was pretty similar like Johor Bahru’s Ayam Goreng Berempah. The only difference was that Da Ma Restoran didn’t give much rempah crispy things even though it seemed they put much of it on the menu picture 😅.
The fried chicken taste was quite tasty for my liking and juicy.
The nasi lemak itself was also nice and the chilli sauce also had a good balance of spicy.
Overall, you can consider having weekday lunch in Da Ma Restoran.
