Where is your favourite chicken rice place in Singapore? I have few in minds and during a journey to find it, I tried chicken rice from Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken that is located inside Chinatown Complex.
A short story, Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken somehow have story relation with Liao Fan Hawker Chan. The owner of Liao Fan Hawker Chan worked at Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken long before he opened his own Liao Fan Hawker Chan shop.
Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken is selling soya sauce chicken rice, oyster sauce vegetables and signature beancurd that is, for me, the second highlight dish other than their soya sauce chicken.

Actually before covid started, I had my lunch with this chicken rice, oyster sauce vegetables and signature braised beancurd, but I haven’t posted it yet.
I recently bought this $4 soya sauce chicken rice again for take away, but too bad, this time they didn’t have more braised beancurd a.k.a. sold out.

What I like the most on this soya sauce chicken is the chicken skin because the skin absorbs soya sauce very well so it looks appealing and tasty.

The chicken itself is tender and they quite generous with the portion.

Even though this time I didn’t try their braised beancurd, but I slightly remembered the taste. It’s a silky smooth beancurd. Hopefully they still maintained their braised beancurd standard 😊.
Overall, I am quite pleased with Ma Li Ya Virgin Chicken‘s chicken rice although there are other places offering tastier chicken rice 😉.
