Today I will share with you Indian style Curry Fish Head that I tried from Pavilion Banana Leaf.
Located at NEX Mall, Pavilion Banana Leaf is an Halal certified restaurant that is specializing in South Indian Chettinad cuisine, using centuries-old traditional authentic South Indian tweaked recipes to suit local tastebud.
I love curry fish head so much, but all the curry fish head that I have ever tried so far were Singaporean style and Malaysian style. So I am a bit curious to try it.

Me and my friend ordered Pavilion Fish Head Curry a.k.a. Meen Thalai Kulambu (Half for $30.90).
Pavilion Fish Head Curry contains fish head simmered in tamarind gravy with brinjal, okra, spices and coconut milk.

Since this Pavilion Fish Head Curry didn’t come with rice, so we ordered Briyani Rice ($5).
Honestly I was a bit surprised that Briyani Rice price was $5, but I still ordered it because they were also selling Fragrant White Rice for $3 😅.
So here we are with Pavilion Fish Head Curry with Briyani Rice.

This curry taste had different taste with Singapore and Malaysian version.
This curry was not as thick as Singaporean and Malaysian version and had a bit strong tangy taste.

Although it’s different, I also like this South Indian style curry version.
The fish itself was thick and juicy. I was not sure which fish they were using, but I like this fish so much.
Briyani Rice was also nice but quite expensive.

This restaurant decoration was also unique because they had a swing that becomes a long chair and had Indian ornaments decorated in this swing.

Overall, this restaurant’s food is quite pricy but the food’s quality and taste are good. You can try this once in a while.
