Who missed the good old days when you were studying in the University?
Sometimes I did (but don’t tell me to study again 😛) so what I can do now is hunting food inside University area. Hehehe.
This time I tried Bricklane Bar at Singapore Management University (SMU).
I coincidentally found this place while exploring SMU and was interested to try because quite many people were eating there and the environment itself was pretty clean and cool.
Bricklane Bar has an indoor and outdoor place to eat. I ate outdoor since it was brighter to take a picture of the food and at the same time I also took pictures indoor because they had cool pictures on the Bricklane Bar wall.
They are using number system to collect the food after ordering, so you just enjoy the scenery at your table while waiting for your number at the monitor hanging on outdoor and indoor wall.
The food here is also pretty affordable and perhaps students get special price (I only guess since I don’t have Student ID card).
I ordered Grilled Teriyaki Chicken with one base selection: Japanese rice with Donburi sauce for $6.90.
Fyi, they have five different types of base selection: Japanese rice with Donburi sauce, Soba (Wafu), Soba (Sesame), Lettuce (Wafu) or Lettuce (Sesame).
You can also add on few of toppings with additional money. I forgot what they had for the toppings since I didn’t add it.
As you can see from this picture, this Grilled Teriyaki Chicken looks very appealing. The taste is also appealing as this Grilled Teriyaki Chicken is more tasty than what I expect.
The sauce also blends well with overall rice and chicken taste. The Japanese rice is also perfectly cooked.
But I should inform you that this meal portion is pretty small, so for big eaters, you would still feel a bit hungry after finishing this meal.
Perhaps they should give more portion for the rice 😬.
But despite of that, I recommend you to visit Bricklane Bar and try their food.
