Whenever I head to Bedok Interchange hawker centre, I’m always met with disappointment because Jimmy People’s Park stall is always closed. It’s happened a few times now, and I can’t help but feel a tad unlucky. But, lo and behold, this time, fortune smiled upon me, and the stall was finally open.
Now, you might wonder why I’m so eager to try their food. Well, I happen to be a hardcore fan of fried kway teow, and rumor has it they serve up some of the best in the area.
Without hesitation, I joined the queue and managed to snag myself a plate of their famed fried kway teow. To my surprise, it arrived promptly, almost as soon as I’d placed my order. Perhaps they had an extra plate ready, and lucky for me, I was the one to benefit. As I touched the plate, I noticed it wasn’t piping hot, but that was forgivable considering the circumstances.
My dear and I decided to share the fried kway teow so we could sample other delights since Bedok is quite a trek from our place.
The verdict? The fried kway teow was undeniably tasty, though not quite the best we’ve ever had. We could still discern the wok hei flavor, but it was a tad dry for our liking. Nevertheless, it was a satisfying meal worth the journey.
