Kastil Dimsum

Kastil Dimsum

Recently I found one interesting dimsum restaurant in Jakarta that became viral because of their adorable and irresistible looking dimsum.

Named Kastil Dimsum, this restaurant is one of the most crowded places inside Sarinah Mall (the oldest mall that still exists in Jakarta).

Just an advise because of viral, you need to come here as early as you can because if not, most of the cute dimsum will be no more.

My dear and I are one of the living proof of this because many dimsum that we want are out of stock 😅.

We only managed to order Bakpao Ayam & Abon (Duckling Pao shape IDR28.000 around SGD2.8), Bakpao Telor Asin (Baby Birds Pao shape IDR28.000 around SGD2.8), Wanton Udang Goreng (Fish Fried Dumpling shape IDR30.000 around SGD3), Ayam Goreng Isi Keju (Dolphin Fried Dumpling shape IDR32.000 around SGD3.2), Pangsit Udang & Sayuran (Peacock Dumpling shape IDR30.000 around SGD3), Kastil Praha (Prague Castle IDR65.000 around IDR6.5), Sup Kepiting Asparagus (Asparagus Soup with Crab Meat IDR40.000 around SGD4), Lemonito (IDR32.000 around SGD3.2) and Green Tea (IDR11.000 around IDR1.1).

Bakpao Ayam & Abon is a cute duckling shape bao with cute duck plate, colourful transparent ornaments and has chicken meat and chicken floss fillings.

Bakpao Telor Asin is a baby birds shape bao with colourful transparent ornaments and has sweet salted egg sauce filling.

Wanton Udang Goreng is a fish shape fried dumpling with shrimp filling.

Ayam Goreng Isi Keju is a dolphin shape fried dumpling with colourful transparent ornaments and has chicken & cheese fillings.

Pangsit Udang & Sayuran is a peacock shape dumpling with colourful transparent ornaments and has shrimp filling & vegetables.

Kastil Praha (Prague Castle) consists of five different interesting looking dimsum.

All of the bao that we tried were delicious and honestly we were a bit regretted to eat those because these dimsum were too cute 😂.

Sup Kepiting Asparagus (Asparagus Soup with Crab Meat) was delicious.

Lemonito was also a good beverage to choose.

Other than cute dimsum, they also served tea performance when you ordered Chinese Tea. The performance was so cool.

Overall we were really pleased with these dimsum until my dear requested me to go there again the second time to celebrate her birthday because Kastil Dimsum had special birthday bao named Bakpao Panjang Umur (Longevity Pao IDR35.000 around SGD3.5).

Learned from first experience, we tried to reserve the table and reserved dimsum that we wanted to try, but too bad they only allowed us to reserve Bakpao Panjang Umur.

So again (for the second time), we didn’t manage to order many again because the one that we haven’t tried was only left one dimsum: Kastil Windsor (Windsor Castle IDR50.000 around SGD5).

Inside Bakpao Panjang Umur (Longevity Pao) has three small size of Longevity Pao inside this big Bakpao Panjang Umur. They also wrote Happy Birthday and had candle.

Kastil Windsor (Windsor Castle) has five different types of fruit & vegetables shape bao such as durian shape, corn shape, taro shape, apple shape and pumpkin shape.

The highlight of these Bao is durian shape because it has durian filling.

So if you are planning to come here, don’t go in the evening 😂.
