Today I will share with you one hidden gem zi char place named Beng Poh Eating House that is located at 17 Tampines Ave.
I knew about this place after watching someone’s Tiktok post and I was curious to try it because they said this place was open air environment and food taste was pretty similar like Malaysia.
Fyi, there are no mrt station nearby Beng Poh Eating House, so the best way to go to this place is either drive your own car or take public bus.
Due to curiosity, I asked my friend to visit Beng Poh Eating House with me.
Upon arriving, we personally requested Beng Poh Eating House’s staff to eat at the outdoor table because we wanted to experience Malaysia open air restaurant ambience.
Based on the staff recommendation, we ordered Rice Wine Kampong Chicken ($$20), Assam Fish Head ($27), Homemade Fried Pork ($15), Dried Shrimp Bean ($12) and Steamed Rice.
You need to come early if you wish to try their Rice Wine Kampong Chicken because they said this Rice Wine Kampong Chicken is a high demand dish and they only have limited quantity for this dish every day.
Rice Wine Kampong Chicken is tasty and I like it so much. Kampong Chicken essence will also strengthen your body immune.
Assam Fish Head has a very strong assam taste in the begining you try and gradually become nicer and nicer. This dish is unique yet addictive and it’s nice to eat this sauce with rice.
Homemade Fried Pork is very tender and crispy. It’s really really nice.
Dried Shrimp Bean is not bad because they give a lot of dried shrimp and the long bean is crunchy enough.
For the drink, you must try their homemade Barley and Lo Han Guo. These drink taste are naturally nice and they don’t put a lot of sugar, so it’s not sweet at all. It’s also healthier.
Overall we were really satisfied with Beng Poh Eating House food taste and quality. I would definitely visit again in near future.
