Craving for an Indonesian food especially Gado Gado in Singapore? I have one recommended place to satisfy your cravings.
This place name is Gado & Grill. I accidentally found this place when I went to City Square Mall.
Gado & Grill is selling few varieties of Indonesian cuisine such as Gado Gado, Ayam Penyet, Grilled Chicken, Fried Rice and few others.
Since this restaurant name is Gado & Grill, I strongly believe that their signature cuisine is Gado Gado and grill related dishes.
But because I was craving ayam penyet, so I tried their Ayam Penyet instead of Grilled Chicken and Gado Gado.
Ayam Penyet ($7) consists of smashed fried chicken, rice, crunchy flakes, beancurd, crackers and hot chilli.
This smashed fried chicken is crispy, yummy and tender. For me, the star of this dish is the beancurd. It’s really niceeee. The chili is also spicy. They are quite generous in putting the crackers without additional charges as most of the Indonesian restaurant in Singapore will put extra charge for crackers.
Gado Gado ($6) is an Indonesian style of salad dish that consists of vegetables, hard boiled egg, beancurd, rice cake and is served with peanut sauce dressing and crackers.
This Gado Gado really has same taste like the one in Indonesia (for me is Jakarta). The peanut sauce dressing successfully bring full flavour of this Gado Gado. This is the best Gado Gado that I have ever tried in Singapore so far.
Overall, I really like these dishes. I definitely will come back to Gado & Grill. Fyi, since Gado & Grill has many branches in Singapore, I don’t know whether their standard are the same or not. The branch that I recommend now is the City Square Mall branch.
