After a long time, I never visited Chinatown Complex Food Centre anymore. I recently went there again to look for a nice food that I never tried before. P.S. actually last time before covid started, I went there almost every weekday to have my lunch even though I haven’t posted many of them due to busy schedule and covid 😅.
Since this time I went there on the weekends, I had a lot of time to try food stall that was having super long queue. I decided to try Hong Kong Mongkok Tim Sum.
Hong Kong Mongkok Tim Sum is selling few types of Tim Sum such as Char Siew Bao, Shao Mai, Xia Jiao, Steam Chicken Feet, Prawn Rice Flour Roll and Char Siew Rice Flour Roll.
They are selling per plate for Prawn Rice Flour Roll & Char Siew Rice Flour Roll and per tray for the rest of Tim Sum.
Per tray for Char Siew Bao, Shao Mai and Xia Jiao consist of there pieces of those Tim Sum.
The highlight of Hong Kong Mongkok Tim Sum is their Char Siew Bao. I knew this from googling and observing majority of people buying there. So to play safe, I also tried one tray of their Char Siew Bao.
But it’s not an easy journey to get their Tim Sum 😂. First, you need to take the number. Second, you need to wait until your turn by seeing queue number on the number machine in front of this stall. Third, you need to tell them what you want to buy.
The suffering part is the second part as the queue can be up to one hour plus. In this time, I waited around 45 minutes only to buy three pieces of Char Siew Bao ($3).
The bright side is, it’s worth to queue (for me) because their Char Siew Bao is trully delicious without exception. The Bao is soft, Char Siew is marinated well with the sauce and they put generous Char Siew inside the Bao.
To boost your morale more before queueing, Hong Kong Mongkok Tim Sum is making this Tim Sum themself in that stall so it’s new and fresh.
So if you have time, do visit Hong Kong Mongkok Tim Sum.
