Today I will share with you one food stall located around Chinatown that is selling one kind of traditional Indonesian street food snack: kue Putu a.k.a Putu Bamboo.
This place’s name is Indonesian Bamboo Cake.
Indonesian Bamboo Cake is selling two different quantity of kue Putu: 3 pieces for $2.50 and 2 pieces for $2.
The ingredients and the tools they are using to make this kue Putuh is really simillar like the one that I have tried in Jakarta.
They are both using rice flour and stuffed with Palm Sugar.
They also fill the ingredients inside bamboo hole and steam it.
After steaming it, they will put grated coconut on top of this kue Putuh.
I purchased 3 pieces of kue Putu for take away.
Indonesian Bamboo Cake’s kue Putu taste is also similar like Jakarta kue Putu version.
The palm sugar is nice and not too sweet.
Overall, I really like this kue Putu. I am glad that I finally found an authentic Indonesian kue Putu seller in Singapore.
