Durian season is coming back again. This is the second season that I am waiting for every year (in my list) other than the first season based on my version: Christmas season 😬.
To embark my durian craving, I recently went to Rivervale Drive Rivervale Plaza Wet Market #01-30 to buy durian.
I saw durian seller in front of the wet market that was selling a lot of different prices of durian and from different brands.
As I am not an expert in identifying durian, I only dare to buy expensive durian like Mao Shan Wang or Black Thorn only on selected famous durian shop / durian shop that most of the time I had bought Mao Shan Wang from, example: 99 Old Trees.
So here I am buying the cheapest durian a.k.a. $5 for one durian. This durian supplier name is Lexus.
Since it’s affordable, I bought 8 durians straight away and randomly took the durian.
So here I am with a lot of durians waiting to be eaten.
Among 8 durians, one durian is overripe, one durian is not ripe yet and the rest are perfectly nice and sweet.
From what I have observed, for $5 durian is better to choose green colour husk than brown colour husk as my brown colour husk is overripe. I don’t have any idea whether just coincidence or not, but this is what I have experienced.
Conclusion is, don’t under estimate $5 durians. It’s also delicious.Â
