I recently went to &Joy Japanese Food Street inside NEX Mall and had ramen at Ramen Kiou.
Ramen Kiou comes from Osaka and becomes Time-honoured Ramen since 1995 because of serving honest bowls of goodness ramen.
Based on the menu description, it seems that Ramen Kiou is proud of their Chashu as the chashu is one of their three elements “Broth, Chashu and Noodles” to produce original “taste of Kiou” using original recipes from Japan.
They pressure-cooked the broth over five hours to extract the pure, natural essence of pork bones and vegetables.
They finely-selected pork belly braised over three hours in a special concoction of aged chashu stock.
They were also using freshly-made Kyushu-style noodles.
Because of their speciality on chashu, I ordered Riki Tonkotsu Ramen ($16.20).
Riki Tonkotsu Ramen is one of their special flavours ramen and this is the best seller ramen at Ramen Kiou.
Riki Tonkotsu Ramen consists of Tonkotsu broth with garlic oil, two pieces homemade chashu, ramen egg and garlic flakes.
The chashu is tasty and tender.
The Tonkotsu broth is thick and rich of flavour.
Overall this Riki Tonkotsu Ramen has a pretty good taste.
I also top up this ramen to become a set meal (additional $3.60) to get three pieces Mentai Mayo Gyoza and drink.
They were quite generous gives mentai mayo sauce and the taste was nice.
If you are at NEX Mall, you can consider to try this ramen at Ramen Kiou.
