After having bad experience eating bak chor mee at Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle, I tried my luck to order Fried Spring Onion Pancake from Chinese cuisine stall named Shen Yang Feng Wei which was located in the same small eating house as Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle.
Based on the stall appearance and the menu with Chinese characters, I guessed the owner was originally from China. As I couldn’t understand and read Chinese characters, I tried googling “nice Chinese food at Tai Hwa Eating House” and matching it with the stall pictures, I found out many people recommended Fried Spring Onion Pancake.
So I showed Fried Spring Onion Pancake to them and said “I want to order this”.
They served this Fried Spring Onion Pancake with one small plate of chilli sauce.
This Fried Spring Onion Pancake itself had eight quite big pieces.
It was very crunchy, not so oily and incredibly tasty.
I was very shocked on how delicious this snacks could be.
This stall taught me a lesson that no need Michelin star to determine the delicious food or not.
I will absolutely recommend you to try Shen Yang Feng Wei‘s food.
