As a food blogger, I do appreciate and like to find legendary food that still exist until now.
One of the legendary food that I have recently found is satay. Long story short, I read from the internet, the seller started to sell satay long time ago using wooden pushcart around Tiong Bahru area since 1970 and every day he was only able to make limited quantities of satay so many people did pre booking to order satay in advance. The amazing thing is the pre booking order could be up to few months.
The good thing is that he recently opens a permanent shop at Chinatown. This shop name is Ah Pui Tiong Bahru Satay.
So we don’t have to wait a few months to try his satay.
Btw, please take a note that Ah Pui Tiong Bahru Satay doesn’t sell chicken, beef and mutton satay. He is only selling pork satay. But other than satay, this place at Chinatown is also selling few varieties of main courses.
I order take away 20 sticks of AhPui’s Famous Satay ($11.80 for 10 sticks) and Satay Rice ($0.70).
10 sticks of AhPui’s Famous Satay ($11.80) comes with Special Peanut Sauce with Pineapple Purée. But in case you want to buy extra Special Peanut Sauce with Pineapple Purée, you can purchase it separately for $0.80.
At the time when I come, he just opens the shop, so I don’t have to queue to get his satay.
AhPui’s Famous Satay appearance looks very tempting to try. The shape of this satay is also unique because it seems that he cut the satay meat himself (because the meat shape is not even) and in the middle position of the meat has block shape (I do believe that it is a fat).
This satay meat size is also bigger compared with common pork satay at other places.
AhPui’s Famous Satay is mouthwateringly delicious. It’s so juicy, soooo tasty and the block fat will melt inside your mouth. In fact, this is the best pork satay that I have ever tried in Singapore.
The special peanut sauce is also yummy and pineapple purée brings freshness and makes this overall taste climb up to another level.
Overall I am really satisfied to try this AhPui’s Famous Satay. You really really must try it.
