Today I will still review another restaurant located inside Northshore Plaza I named Downstairs.
Downstairs is a Singapore restaurant retro theme concept that is selling retro food with good retro ambience, thanks to their decorations.
One thing unique about this Downstairs is the way to order food and payment even though it’s a retro theme concept. They are using high technology to order food via order machine and you cannot pay cash in this restaurant.
I try their most expensive menu to take away: Salted Egg Chicken Nasi Lemak for $8.90.
Salted Egg Chicken Nasi Lemak consists of nasi lemak with salted egg chicken, egg, sambal chilli with ikan bilis and cucumbers.
I’m really surprised with this nasi lemak because the taste is similar like Nasi Uduk (Indonesian version of nasi lemak). It’s really tasty.
Salted Egg Chicken is crispy outside and tender inside. The salted egg taste is also yummy, blended well with this chicken and not overpowering the rice taste.
Sambal chilli is not so spicy yet addictive. Based on my preference, you better mix the rice with sambal chilli to get an extreme delicious taste. This ikan bilis is not crunchy but I am fine with it 😀.
Overall, I really recommend you to visit Downstairs restaurant. Next time, I will try their Lu Rou Fan.
