I love eating dim sum at Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant. Too bad the one located at Jalan Besar is quite long distance from nearest mrt station, so it’s not so convenient for me to go there from Punggol.
Luckily now, they open a new branch at Century Square (Tampines), so I can take the bus to go there from my place.
From my observation, the waiting time at Century Square is not so crazy compared with the Jalan Besar one, so it’s a good point as well for me 😛.
This time I order some of the dim sum to take away: one set of Carrot Cake (2pcs), Mee Suah Kueh (2pcs), Beancurd Prawn Roll (2pcs), Black Sesame Lava Bao (3pcs) and Baked BBQ Char Siew Bao (2pcs).
Carrot Cake is made out of grated turnip, dried shrimp and Chinese sausages. It’s yummy.
Mee Suah Kueh is one of the Swee Choon recommended dim sum to try. It’s made from vermicelli, shrimp and Chinese Sausage. It’s a good option to try.
Beancurd Prawn Roll is also Swee Choon signature dish. It’s made from shrimp and minced pork, wrapped with beancurd sheet. It’s crispy and tasty.
Black Sesame Lava Bao and Baked BBQ Char Siew Bao are the newest edition that Swee Choon has.
Black Sesame Lava Bao is made from charcoal bun with oozy black sesame fillings. I think because I do take away (so not hot anymore), when I cut this Bao in half, the black sesame fillings is not oozy at all. But the taste is okay.
The last is Baked BBQ Char Siew Bao. It’s a good move from Swee Choon to have this Baked BBQ Char Siew Bao because many people like this type of bao. It’s tasty.
Overall, I am glad that Swee Choon open branch at Century Square. Good job 👍.
