I think my luck has been increasing because after visiting Bakmi Town, I accidentally found another shop inside Lucky Plaza that has been selling Indonesian cuisine, to be exact is Surabaya and East Java cuisine.
This place name is Ol’Java.
From the menu, seems like Ol’Java is selling non common Indonesian cuisine. Even for me, some of their menu are new to my ear.
Ol’Java signature dishes are Nasi Campur Legend Surabaya, Lontong Cap Go Meh, Naked Satay, Rawon and many more.
I believe this is the first place in Singapore which is selling Nasi Campur Legend Surabaya and Sate Ayam Naked (Naked Satay).
They have few meat options for Nasi Campur Legend Surabaya, such as Beef ($11), Chicken ($10), Chicken + Beef ($14) and No Meat ($7).
I chose Nasi Campur Legend Surabaya with Chicken ($10) to take away.
Nasi Campur Legend Surabaya itself contains vermicelli, egg, curry tofu and sambal belachan.
Frankly speaking, I was a bit look down of this food after seeing this Nasi Campur Legend Surabaya appearance because from the looks (especially the vermicelli), it was not that appealing.
But, this food taste spoke differently. It had unique taste and surprisingly was delicious.
Curry tofu was very tasty and the tofu itself absorbed curry sauce very well.
Vermicelli was also nice even though the appearance was not that appealing.
The chicken also was tasty and tender.
The chili sauce was super duper spicy. I skipped this chili sauce because I couldn’t take the spicy food.
Overall, Nasi Campur Legend Surabaya is really nice and recommended to try.
