Craving for an Ipoh cuisine at Compass One Mall? I have one recommended place for you to try. The restaurant name is Shan Cheng.
I do believe if you stay at Sengkang area, most of you already know or have tried these dishes from Shan Cheng. How am I so sure? Well, because this place is always crowded every time I pass by.
Shan Cheng is serving authentic Ipoh cuisine. Fyi, Ipoh is a small town in Malaysia that is well known for its flavours and unique delicacies. Fyi, Shan Cheng have also earned “ Food and Service Excellence Award 2014” by the Singapore Enrich Group.
I try Homemade Charsiew Horfun (dry). This dish consists of horfun, charsiew, Ipoh fried fu pei, soup and chilli sauce.
I like the way Shan Cheng makes their horfun. From the looks, you will see their horfun has an appealing dark brown colour. For the taste, you will experience full flavours of horfun mixed well with the ingredients that makes the horfun colour become dark brown, not dry and tasty. I like this “not dry” version as it makes the horfun tasty even without charsiew.
The Charsiew is not dry and tasty. It’s also juicy.
Ipoh Fried Fu Pei is an Ipoh style of fried beancurd skin. It’s tasty and so crispy that will make you addicted 😀.
Although the price of this Homemade Charsiew Horfun (dry) is a bit pricy for me, but I like it so much. No wonder it’s always crowded.
P.S: I visited Shan Cheng before new regulation to not eat outside has started.
