Today I will share with you another Chinese New Year festive food that I have never seen before in Indonesia but common in Singapore. Curious what is it? It’s Yusheng.
Yusheng a.k.a Prosperity Toss is a Cantonese style raw fish salad that normally consists of strips of raw fish mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces, condiments and other ingredients.
Normally in Singapore, Yusheng is a must dish in every Chinese New Year celebration that normally we do Lou Hei (tossing this dish again and again with saying auspicious phrases for the new year) with this dish.
This year, I purchased Yusheng from A-One Signature restaurant via Qoo10 for $24.90.
Instead of raw fish, A-One Signature restaurant uses a lot of small sizes of Abalone.
For the taste wise, it relatively has a simillar taste with other common Yusheng from other places because the main important things from this Yusheng is the culture that we do to celebrate Chinese New Year 😊.
